Notice Submission No. 391208 which was published in the CBD on October
13, 1999: 14:21. The R&D Office U.S. Army Garrision Abereddn Proving
Ground Maryland is seeking to identify potential sources who can
provide a white paper/proposal on technologly developments concening
the production or modification of an existing vehicle platform for a
Combat Support Vehicle (CSV). The Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) has an
expected overall dimension of L156" X W56" X H36". It shall contain a
load bearing platform of 84" X 55" located in the aft portion of the
vehicle. The CSV must be capable of obtaining and sustaining speed's up
to 45 -- 55 mph. The CSV must be powered by a diesel engine. The CSV
gross vehicle weight rating is 7,000 -- 9,000 lbs. (curb and payload
weight dependent). The CSV shall contain minimal gages and
instrumention and shall accommodate only the operator/driver. The range
of the CSV shall be 250-350 miles with a 3,000 lb (mean) payload. The
CSV must have a ground clearance of 10" and a vertical step of 18". The
CSV must have a turning radius no greater than it's own length
dimension. The CSV must be capable of performing the following
missions: Cargo Hauler and Tow Tractor. The primary mission of the CSV
us to hall heavy bulk cargo over irregular terrain in a closed
confined environment. Cross country movement. The secondary mission of
the CSV is to haul heavy bulk cargo cross-country from a logistics
staging area to outlining sites. Interested firms may communicate their
interest in writing to the Contract Specialist. The communication must
fully document the firm's current capability to respond to a
requirement of this type, including specifications of their product
lines, pictures, drawings, and any other commercial/marketing material
available. This is not a request for proposal. No solicitation exists;
however, all responses received within 25 days from the date of
publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by the Government to
determine what firms in the marketplace currently have this capability.
The final determination based on the information provided is solely
within the discretion of the Government. Responses should be submitted
