65 -- DIAGNOSTIC REAGENTS SOL N01001 DUE 120299 POC Guy Baratte, Purchasing Agent/Carolyn Sentz, Contracting Officer, (301) 402-2282 The National Institue of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to negotiate a sole-source simplified acquisition with the Boehringer Mannheim Division of Roche Diagnostics of Indianapolis, IN for Hepatitis C Virus Monitor 2.0 Assay Kits. These items will be used to perform immunological tests to detect, analyze and quantify markers of hepatitis and human immunodeficiency virus on a wide variety of specimens. Tests performed include animals under study, volunteers on vaccine evaluation studies, quality control surveys, epidemiological studies and personnel monitoring. This function has operated for over twenty years to support the efforts of many projects within the Hepatitis Virus Section of the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases, NIAID and throughout this tenure the assays have been performed using the same relative test kits and reagents. It is essential that the same reagents be used as have been used over the years in order to maintain the integrity of the data received.
