A -- SPECIALIZED ENGINEERING FOR THE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF NAVAL VEHICLE SHIP ACOUSTICS AND ACOUSTIC TECHNOLOGY SOL N00167-99-R-0085 DUE 020100 POC ERROR -- POC Teresa MAYO (301)227-3301 and Linda JENISTA-MARTIN (301)227-5774 The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to negotiate, on a competitive basis for a five year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity cost plus fixed fee (completion) contract for engineering, technical, scientific programmatic and logistic support services in multi-disciplinary areas in support of Navy Signature Measurement Systems. The work supports fixed and mobile facilities dedicated to the measurement and evaluation of naval vehicle acoustic electromagnetic fields and acoustic systems. Support is required for the operation and maintenance of existing unique systems of sensors, signal conditioning, recording, and advanced digital signal processing. NSWCCD has the additional requirement of advancing measurement capabilities through the application of emerging advanced technology into new systems and processes. Therefore, the contract shall provide services for the operation and maintenance of existing systems, and, for the design, fabrication, assembly, test, evaluation, and procurement of new systems in support of changing NSWCCD acoustic evaluation requirements. The period of performance shall be for five years with an estimated total work-hours of 248,750. Definitive tasks will be issued on individual delivery orders. It is anticipated that the major effort to be performed will be accomplished at the contractor's facility. The Government intends to make a direct award to a single, responsible offeror whose proposal is deemed to represent the best value to the Government considering technical, past performance, and cost considerations.
