The General Services Administration, Federal Technology Service, Region
8, Denver and its client, U.S. Navy, CINCPACFLT, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
intend to procure on a Sole Source basis from UUNET an MCI/WorldCom
Company, 1945 Old Gallows Rd., Vienna, VA 22182 the following
proprietary integration solution: The package required by US Navy
CINCPACFLT is as follows: T1 service for ANS from UUNet including: 1)
Price protected T1 start up; 2) T1 Lease Line Install; 3) Price
Protected T1 Monthly Service; 4) Monthly Leased Line; and 4) Quantity
One: CISCO 2610 Router with internal T1 CSU/DSU. Impact: The government
has fully researched other options and has found that UUNet is the only
provider with key knowledge and expertise for the development of the
support. Not using this source can be detrimental to the completion of
the mission and hinder the development of all systems involved in the
US Navy effort. This support is a continuation of previously purchased
support from UUNet. UUNet has tailored the supportto benefit the US
Navy needs. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION:
UUNet has an excellent past performance record for providing the
service/support. The US Navy has purchased the support in the past,
along with other DOD agencies. The company has had an outstanding
working relationship with the CINCPACFLT which will help in ensuring
success and completion of the task. UUNet has hands-on experience with
the US Navy. The company knows the structure, inputs and outputs, and
contents associated with the systems support work due to not only
their past presence at the US Navy and with the task order effort, but
also for their continued support for the mission of the effort in
various support role capacities. UUNet has worked with the US Navy
personnel, management and is intimately familiar with quality control
issues. UUNet requires no additional resources as part of a learning
curve related to the work effort. This is not a solicitation for offers
and none exists at this time. All responsible sources who can provide
and meet the above requirements are encouraged to respond. All
information is to be furnished at no cost or obligation to the
government within 15-calendar days of the publication of this notice.
Along with the above requested service/product information, please
include Company name, point of contact and any relevant past experience
and references. References for other DoD agency contracts are
especially desirable. Any responsible/interested source may submit
their information by e-mail, not later than the closing date listed
herein. Posted 10/14/99 (W-SN391679). (0287) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0024 19991018\D-0015.SOL)
