accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.303, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the official notification for which quotes are being
requested and a written solicitation will be issued. The solicitation
document Request for Quotes (RFQ) 279-0018 and incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Regulation
Circular 97-13. This procurement is being advertised as a fully
competed procurement, under standard industrial classification code
3534, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The Federal
Bureau of Prisons, Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), San Diego,
CA intends to award a Elevator Preventive Maintenance and Emergency
Services contract to the contractor who submits the best value offer
(a) within the City of San Diego, County of San Diego. This
solicitation requires: 1). The contractor needs to provide all
management, supervision, labor, materials, repair tools, instruments,
and equipment, and will plan, schedule, coordinate and ensure effective
and economical completion of all work and services specified in this
contract. 2). All elevator equipment in the building will be maintained
at an acceptable level, throughout the contract period. An acceptable
level of maintenance is defined as the level of maintenance which will
preserve the equipment in unimpaired operating condition, i.e., above
the point where deterioration will begin, thereby diminishing the
normal life expectancy of the equipment. 3). The contractor is
responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and
repairs, as necessary, on a 24 hour -- 1 day, 7 -- day -- week, 365 --
days per year basis, including emergency call back service. 4). The
following type of elevators to be serviced at this MCC are:5 X TRACTION
ELEVATORS, 2 X 14 STOP -- SECURITY, 2 X 12 STOP -- VISITOR, 1 X 3 STOP
MARSHALS, 1 X HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR -- FREIGHT,and 1 X 2 STOPS. SOL RFQ
