71 -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION -- FURNITURE MANUFACTURERS The Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) is planning to relocate its employees from 18 separate buildings into a new consolidated campus planned for Alexandria, Virginia. As part of this effort, the PTO may have a need to purchase furniture. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine industry capabilities and gather information on modular furniture lines that may satisfy the PTO's potential needs. This market research shall be conducted at NO COST TO THE GOVERNMENT. The PTO's exact procurement methodology will be determined at a later time, once funds have been approved. At this time the PTO would like to gather industry/manufacturer information to better prepare itself for making informed decisions. The PTO has not defined its technical specifications fully and will begin a process of discussing applicable requirements with our employee unions. Concurrent with that process, the PTO would like to begin identifying products from various manufacturers that satisfy generic, anticipatedspecifications (detailed in the RFI package) in order for the Agency to better define its precise specifications once that time arrives. Exact quantities are undetermined at this time but may exceed 7,000 workstations.
