The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to establish a qualified products list applicable to radiosonde/signal processing systems operating in the frequency band between 1668.4 MHz and 1700 MHz and using the Global Positioning System (GPS) for radiosonde position and wind determination. All qualification requirements will be set forth in Solicitation 52-DGNW-0-90007, which will be issued on or about November 1, 1999 and will close on or about December 1, 1999. The qualification process will include both applicant testing and Government testing. Subject to funding constraints, the Government desires to award one or more contracts from Solicitation 52-DGNW-0-90007 for delivery to the Government of small quantities of radiosondes/signal processing systems for use during Government testing. The Government desires to make such contract award(s) in approximately December 1999 with radiosonde/signal processing system deliveries to begin in approximately May 2000. It is anticipated that thefirst production contracts subject to the qualification requirements will be awarded in approximately November 2000.
