E-MAIL: Cathy Kallistros, ckallis@pica.army.mil. It is necessary that the modification work to modify th W12 cable to the W12A cable configuration be performed by General Reliance Corp. The W12 cables at its' current configuration will not work with the Version 11 software to be fielded by PM Paladin. These cables must be modified to the W12A configuration and the modification work must be done in a schedule that will support the ongoing Version 11 retrofit effort. Timing of this retrofit is critical for the PM to eliminate duplicate cost of having to perform the retrofit twice (one for the Version 11 and one for the cable). The W12 cables is unique to the M109A6 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer Fire Control System. Modifying these cables to the W12A configuration will require special tooling and experience in repairing electrical cables.
