46 -- WASTE WATER DISPOSAL SOL 27-M-APHIS-00 DUE 112699 POC Kathryn Linde 612-370-2494 The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Waimanalo, HI intends to acquire the services necessary for legal and permitted disposal of waste water generated by Fruit Fly production in its Hawaii Fruitfly Rearing Facility at 41-650 Ahiki Street in Waimanalo, HI. The effort will involve daily disposal of the waste water generated by the facility, including weekends and Holidays. The estimated amount of water generated is between 12,000 and 18,000 gallons daily. The waste water includes some solid diet material such as sugar, yeast, corn grit, wheat and wheat germ. The waste water is from the fruit fly rearing facility only and contains no human waste. It must be treated for its high biological oxygen demand. This waste water cannot be dumped in the local sewer system. This effort will begin on January 1, 2000 through September 30, 2000 with options for 4 additional years of services. This is a synopsis for request for proposal for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 and FAR 15. This procurement will be awarded as a fixed price contract, FOB origin. Inspection and acceptance will take place at source. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. The solicitation, 27-M-APHIS-00, is to be released on or about October 29, 1999.
