combined synopsis/solicitation to procure commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. It constitutes the only
solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. This procurement notice is being issued as a
request for quotation. Submit offers on RFQ 0002. The solicitation
document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-13. This is not a small business
set-aside. The SIC Code is 3844 and the size standard is 500 employees.
The National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends
to procure a Mark I Irradiator, Model #68A with accessories,
installation and training as manufactured by J.L. Shepard & Associates,
San Fernando, CA brand name or equal. This equipment will assist the
Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases (LPD) in work on adoptive transfers
and bone marrow transplants, immunology and parasitology. The Mark I
Series Research Irradiators are the only self-contained irradiators
which provide versatility of dose rates using multiple turntable
positions and a large selection of source loading designed to meet
specific irradiation requirements. The list of items to be procured is
as follows: 1)Mark I cesium irradiator model #68A -- 1 each; 2)8,000
curie source -- 1 each; 3)Installation & Training -- 1 job; 4)Estimated
Freight Charge -- 1 fee; 5)Compressed Air Supply -- 1 fee; 6)Additional
Shielding -- 1 each; 7)Attenuator(set of five) -- 1 each; 8)Test Tube
Holder (combination 15ml and 50ml) -- 1 each. The Government will award
a fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor offering the
best value to the Government, technical equipment and price considered.
The provision at FAR 52.212-1 -- Instructions to Offerors (Commercial
Items) applies to this acquisition. Offerors must include a completed
copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offerors Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items with their offer. The clause at FAR
52.212-4, Contract terms and conditions, applies to this acquisition.
The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions required to
Implement Statutes or Executive Orders, applies to this acquisition.
The clauses of subpart (b) which apply are 6 & 10. Delivery shall be
completed 120-160 days after award to: NIH/NIAID, 9000 Rockville Pike,
Building 50, Bethesda, MD 20892. Any response to this notice is due no
later than 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, December 6, 1999 to Hanif
