The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15 Contracting Office is issuing a solicitation for both the VAMC Jefferson Barracks and VAMC John Cochran Divisions in St. Louis MO for Medical Record Coding Services. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and transportation necessary to perform coding for inpatient and outpatient data collection, evaulating the completeness and accuracy of coding diagnoses and procedures in accordance with official coding guidelines (Coding Clinics, CPT Assistant, HFCA/AMA, Ambulatory Patient Classifications [APC]) in a simulated Medicare payment environment. The reviewers must have current credentials of an Accredited Record Technician (ART), Registered Record Administrator(RRA), or a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Reviewers must have at least five (5) years of training/experience as a consultant in reviewing records in large tertiary care hospital and outpatient health care organizations having all subspecialities and primary care. Contractor will be requiredto develop a detailed project plan to include the following: Specific timelines for completing coding, number of days required, number of reviewers required and space and equipment required. Contractor will be responsible for providing their reference materials and software/encoder tools for performing review and VAMC will provide up to 5 Windows NT Personal Computers.
