99 -- MISCELLANEOUS-SOURCES SOUGHT FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM The need exists for a short-range (1 to 2 miles) communications system that allows Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians to transmit digital voice, data, and images while simultaneously operating on EOD incidents. The system shall be capable of interfacing directly with current, field operated, joint service radios as well as commercial audio/visual equipment. Secure, duplex communications are desired but unsecured approaches will also be evaluated. The equipment is expected to work in outdoor environments, often, with the operator using protective clothing.
