Palm Beach County, Florida. The work will include construction of the
pumping station substructure and superstructure, earthwork adjacent to
the pumping station, miscellaneous civil work, installing
Government-furnished pumps, diesels, gear reducers and controls, and
providing miscellaneous related mechanical and electrical systems. The
construction of Pumping Station 319 includes the following: (a)
Construction of the pumping station will include, but not be limited
to, the station substructure, a fully enclosed building for the
equipment, one access bridge, fuel storage area with containment,
sanitary facility, trash racks, and related civil works. (b)
Installation of five Government-furnished pumps, diesels, speed
reducers and controls being supplied by Ingersol-Dresser Pump
Corporation under Contract No. DACW17-99-C-0043. Three of the pumps are
960 cubic feet per second (cfs) and two pumps are 550 cfs. The diesel
engines are manufactured by Fairbanks-Morse and the right-angle speed
reducers are manufactured by Philadelphia Gear. (c) Miscellaneous
related mechanical and electrical will include, but not limited to,
electrical station service equipment, lighting, two standby
diesel-generators, air system, vacuum priming system, HVAC equipment,
cooling water pumps and equipment, lubricating and fuel oil systems,
traveling trash rakes, a bridge crane, water treatment and other
miscellaneous equipment. (d) Other construction will include, but not
limited to, the pumping station approach and discharge channels. The
approach channel will consist of a trapezoidal channel having a bottom
width near the pumping station of 157 feet and an invert elevation of
8.0 feet, NGVD. The discharge channel will consist of a trapezoidal
channel having a bottom width near the pumping station of 157 feet and
an invert elevation of 1.5 feet, NGVD. The existing ground surface
elevation in the vicinity of Pumping Station 319 is approximately 15
feet, NGVD. This is an unrestricted acquisition and all responsible
sources are encouraged to participate. The contract will be awarded on
a "best-value" basis. Evaluation factors will include Technical, Past
Performance and Price. Magnitude of construction is over $10,000,000.

1999 with proposals due on or about February 02, 2000. Solicitation
