SOL RFP 600-9984-0016tld DUE 111299 POC Teri Deihl, (562) 494-5528 (facsimile) The Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in the Network Business Center intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Surgical West, Inc., Redondo Beach, California under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-04. Surgical West, Inc. manufactures and distributes the Shadow Line Side loading Retractor Set and Versa-trac Master Set. The Shadow Line Cervical Spine Retractor System allows surgeons to perform a multitude of cervical spine procedures using a single system. This includes the widest selection of blunt and toothed retractor blades, color-coded according to length for easy identification. Additionally includes radiolucent retractor blades which provide optimal visualization during operative imaging; and Shadow Line has unique hooks that can be utilized for posterior spinal procedures. The Versa-trac Master Set provides the ultimate in operative versatility, combining unilateral and bilateral, micro and macro lumbar spine retraction in a single system. The Versa-trac provides unparalleled operative flexibility and cost savings. No other manufacturer, company or distributor is able to provide the specialized systems such as Surgical West, Inc. Research and evaluation of similar systems has been conducted and there are no other systems adequate to meet the needs of the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System Spinal Cord Surgical Department.
