Architect-Engineer Indefinite Quantity contracts to support Retail
Design services. Task will include: researching existing postal retail
locations and other retail locations, studying planning concepts,
fixturing, furnishings, finishes, signage, ect. Developing prototypical
design concepts for various types of postal retail outlets. Developing
individual site-adaptation designs for unique postal retail outlets.
Developing design concepts for casework and other fixtures. Creating
standardized construction document packages for various other A/E firms
to apply prototypical standards to site adapt projects. Proposed and/or
develop overall branding concepts for the postal retail environments.
Coordinate aesthetics of industrial design objects (i.e. vending
equipment) graphic design elements (i.e. identiity signage) and
architectural designed environments (i.e. postal lobbies). Develop and
produce training "tools" and guidelines for design standardization.
Toolsand guidelines may include drawings, written criteria, computer
models, physical models, seminar style presentations, presentation
boards, website content, ect. At times, it may be necessary for
A-E/Retail Designer to domicile one or more individuals at postal
headquarters for up to one month at a time. It is likely that
representatives of the A-E/Retail Design firm will be required to
travel to various cities and towns in the U.S. to visit postal
facilities and confer with postal personnel and postal customers.
Contracts will be for two years and individual work orders will be
issued. Each work order will be negotiated as an individual project.
Work orders for any one project cannot exceed $250,000. Minimum work to
be ordered under this contract is $5,000. The contract may be renewed
for three one-year periods provided the total contract amount does not
exceed $5,000,000. Firms qualified to perform services described above
are invited to submit a completed SF 255, Architect-Engineer and
related Services Questionnaire for specific Project; a completed SF 254
for each ofits proposed consultants to the office above, postmarked not
later than Nov. 15, to the attention of Jennifer Beriro-Reveille.
Selection will be conducted using both the submitted SF 255 and the SF
254(s). Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on
their SF 255 the staffing composition of the office in which work will
be performed. The contract requires that firms provide evidence of
current errors and omissions insurance of $200,00 per claim (exclusive
of legal fees). Preference will be given to firms within a day-trip
distance of USPS HQ. Proficiency in AutoCAD release 14 and graphics
software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, FormZ, is
required. Experience with large scale national and international retail
clients with multi-building roll-outs is required. The firm is also
required to have been in business for over seven years. Participation
of minority-owned and women-owned business in U.S. Postal Service
architect-engineer selection is encouraged. It is prohibited to pay any
fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm
contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this project.
No other general notification for this project will be made.
