The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) anticipates awarding a contract to a contractor who can provide tour guide services for the public tour at the Washington, D.C. facility. The public tour is a major tourist attraction in the Washington, D.C. area. In 1998 approximately 500,000 people toured the facility. Tour guides give presentations on U.S. currency and other interesting facts about the BEP. Tour guides will be responsible for conducting VIP tours to Congressional and Senatorial constituents as well as conducting tours for the general public. The tour facility is located at 14th & C Streets, SW, Washington, DC. The tour hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am through 2:00 pm, with two VIP tours at 8:15 am and 8:45 am. The BEP is closed on all Federal holidays. During the months of June through August, BEP offers extended tour hours. The extended hours are 5:00 pm through 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday with an additional VIP tour at 4:00 pm, for which tour guide services will be required. A detailed statement of work will be provided upon issuance of the solicitation. Interested businesses, which are capable of providing this service, can submit information for the Government to determine said capability. The size standard is $5.0 million or less in annual receipts to be considered a small business.
