This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. DAKF61-00-Q-0001 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) is due by COB 12 Nov 99. This RFQ is small business set-aside, the SIC code is 3448, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. CLIN 0001 Furnish and erect a 24' x 72' x 7' picnic shelter on a concrete slab in the WWII commemorative area near Bldg 906. 1 JB @ $___________.____ CLIN 0002 Furnish and erect a 24' x 48' x 7' picnic shelter on a concrete slab in the Post Exchange area near Bldg 1667 1 JB @ $___________.____. PERFORMANCE: Actual performance on site totals 30 calendar days. If concrete can be completed yet this fall and the shelter later (not to exceed 90 days after award) the performance days for the concretework and the erection of shelter will be added together for a total 30 calendar days on site. Otherwise, there is 30 days performance time once the ground thaws (@ 1 May 00). SUMMARY OF WORK (REQUEST DRAWINGS VIA FAX 608-388-5950) 1.1.1 Provide and install picnic shelters to include site work, slab construction, and erection of shelters on site. 1.1.2 Contractor to provide all tools, materials, and labor to install slab and erect shelter. Drawings showing locations of shelters are provided. Drawings showing slab requirements are provided. 1.2 Removal 1.2.1 Remove 6" of surface material at each site Haul material to designated location ( round trip will not exceed 16 miles) In areas needing fill surface material must be removed first. Fill to be provided by contractor. 1.3 New Work 1.3.1 Establish elevation of slab so top of slab is at 4" above grade.. Excavate and pour frost footers for each support column. Prepare subgrade for slab utilizing compacted crushed gravel./sand. Concrete slab to be 6" thick utilizing a 6 bag mix with fiber reinforcement at a ratio of one 5# bag per cubic yard. Slab to extend 3 feet beyond finished roofline in all directions. Slab to have expansion/control joints at points indicated on drawing provided. 1.3.2 Furnish, assemble, and install each shelter as per manufacturers instructions.. Location/Orientation of shelters to be marked by government. 1.3.3 Place blackdirt around perimeter of shelter and landscape/reseed area. Slope to edge of slab. 1.3.4 Stub in PVC for electrical service as shown. 1.4 Detail information: 1.4.1 Shelter WWII commemorative area vicinity Bldg. 0906. Requirement is for one each shelter, approximately 24'x72'x7.' in size on concrete slab. 1.4.2 Shelter Post Exchange -vicinity Bldg. 1667. Requirement is for one each shelter, approximately 24'x48'x7' in size on concrete slab. 1.5 Material 1.5.1 Picnic Shelter The government is looking for low maintenance, well-constructed, and attractive picnic shelters. Vendors are not required to quote the exact model, however, they should offer a product with similar features. Based upon Navajo Models N-2472, by Americana Building Products, Hindman Manufacturing Co.,Inc., Centralia, Ill. 62801, telephone 1-800-851-0865, the Government is interested in the following features: Aluminum or steel roof decking and steel structure. Roof decking/ structure shall be able to withstand minimum 40 psf snow load. Roof panels shall be aluminum alloy 3004, h15,3v pan style, with 2 1/2" ribs -8" on center or equivalent steel design The frame of the shelter shall be of 10 gauge steel; all joints to be made with bolt together connections. Field welding will not be required. The steel frame shall be factory prime painted and one coat of durable finish paint applied. Finish to be bronze in color. The shelter shall be designed to the 1991 UBC Building Code. 1.5.2Concrete 6 bag mix containing 3/4 aggregate and fiber reinforcement with light broom finish. 1.5.3 Submittals Required for shelter and slab detail. 2 complete sets of product manuals/ drawings for each size shelter. 1.6 Additional Information 1.6.1 No electric is available at the building sites. 1.6.2 Site visits are available and encouraged if set up through the site POC (Harry Dugan 608-388-5396). 1.6.3 Contractor is responsible for coordinating with government as to utility location prior to digging.
