This is a follow-on acquisition of EDGE version 4.2 Software Support to provide upgrade, enhancing system performance and maintaining compatibility with current technology. The EDGE software, which represents the core of the Supplement Weather Radar (SWR) was developed and provided to the Government under contract N65236-97-D-3018. The EDGE software manages the operation of the SWR,it controls and monitors the transmitter/receiver and antenna, acquires and processes intensity, velocity, and spectral-width data, generates products,and provides display and archivalfunctions. The SWR systems are state of the art meteorological radars. The required software support/upgrades are necessary for enchancing system performance and maintaining compatibility with current technology. This procurement will be issed on an other than full and open competition basis. The Government reserves the right to make mulitple awards if it is determined to be in the best interest of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency in response to this solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available by November 9, 1999 on the SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston RFP web page address link below.
