The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with ATI of Longmont, Colorado for a sonic anemometer without leveling device. The ATI sonic, was developed by NOAA and corrects for flow distortion, sample-averages instead of spot-samples, and is very light-weight while not requiring an instrument box. These features are not matched by any other manufactured sonic and thus the ATI=92s are the best suited for the highly sensitive data acquisition program at Angiola. These ATI sonics will match pre-existing ATI = sonics on multiple levels of a 100 nm tower at the site.
