IAW FAR 6.302-1(a)(ii) and (iii), the Government intends to procure commercial software maintenance agreements on a sole source basis from Cambridge Research Associates. The procurement includes the following: PowerScene Maintenance Warranty. Each warranty provides up to 150 hours of direct services and support. The period of performance for this agreement will be from 1 October 1999 to 30 September 2000. Award of any other source would result in duplication of costs that are not expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. There is no formal solicitation package available, this notice is simply an announcement of the Government's intent, not a request for proposals. Firms that recognize they can provide this maintenance support are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) days after the date of publication of the synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on any information provided is solely within the discretion of the Government.
