DESCRIPTION -- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is AMSTAT-RVP5-0300. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46, dated 17 Mar 97. The associated standard industrial classification code is 7379, with a size standard of $18.0 million. The requirement is for 1 year of comprehensive contract type maintenance on one Harris Nighthawk 8-processor real time computer that is an integral component of the TACOM/TARDEC Simulation Laboratory. The scope of this maintenance is detailed by major hardware component, operating system and running applications programs. The Harris Computer Systems, Inc. was the producer of this computer at the time of its initial purchase by TACOM in 1995. No options will be included. Services are for TACOM/AMSTA-TR-VP, Warren, MI, and the performance period will begin 10/01/99. FOB Destination will apply.
