Contracting Squadron at Misawa Air Base Japan is seeking interested
parties capable of providing English Language TV programming for airing
on a Closed Circuit Cable Television System. Misawa is interested in
receiving English language programming on a direct feed, either
satellite or coaxial cable to the Base CATV Head End equipment. Types
of programming sought include, but are not limited to, American network
television and premium American network channels such as National
Geographic, Animal Planet, Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, TNT,
MTV, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon, VH-1, or similar programming.
Request that if a fee is required, the base be billed at a fixed, flat
monthly rate and not based on the number of drops connected to the
network at any given time. This rate will be fixed for the period of
the contract. Provider must be able to demonstrate that the signals
provided can be received in all connected units prior to contract
award. Provider must be able to provide all agreed upon programming for
the duration of the contract. Vendor provided equipment (if required
for reception) will be compatible with existing CATV infrastructure
SPECIFICATIONS: Misawa's 35th Communications Squadron will continue to
own and maintain the existing closed circuit CATV infrastructure.
Programming provided by the contractor if episodic, must be received in
consecutive order and on a fixed schedule. Vendor must provide a
programming guide for all signals received no later than 2 weeks prior
to air date. Guide must accurately indicate at a minimum: program
name, episode title (if applicable), air date and time, and parental
guidance ratings. Programming will be provided 24hrs/day 7 days a week.
The vendor will provide a 24hr/day trouble desk. The monthly fee will
be prorated for loss of signal for any channel for more than 30
