This prospectus provides initial information on a reconstruction project that is scheduled for advertising during the winter or spring of 1999-2000, for work estimated to begin in the late spring of 2000. Since the project area may be obscured by snow during the advertising period, prospective offerors are encouraged to visit the project area this fall in order to perform a reasonable site investigation and to observe access and other physical conditions. A guideded tour of the project at the Kenai Lake Work Center is planned for 10:00 a.m., November 18, 1999. Directional information may be obtained by contacting Rick Clark at (907) 288-3114. The project is expected to include construction of a new 8" cased well, pumphouse, approximately 1000 linear feet of buried main waterline and laterals, four fire hydrants, replacement of 8 water service connections to the building piping, salvaging, stockpiling and replacement of existing crushed aggregate surfacing, and repair of asphalt areas disturbed by the construction project. The project is located at Kenai Lake Work Center at milepost 23.5 of the Seward Highway, approximately 100 miles from Anchorage, Alaska.
