This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; written proposals will not be issued. The solicitation number is USZA95-00-Q-0002, and is issued as a request for quote. The U.S. Army Special Operations Command intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract with Boeing to conduct airframe maintenance and transmission training for the M/AH-6 aircraft under the authority of FAR 6.302. The intended source is Boeing, 5000 East McDowell Rd., Mesa, AZ 85215-9797. The Government does not have technical sources to teach Maintenance and Transmission Courses forthe MH/AH-6 helicopter. Boeing owns all design rights and is the only known source. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Boeing possesses engineering expertise and technical data to cover classroom material in a timely manner. All interested persons may identify themselves to the contracting officer. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Required planned training begins 1 Nov 99 for the maintenance courses with 8 students per session. Sessions beginning 15 Nov 99 are planned with 5 students per session. It is not known how many sessions will be required at this time. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code applicable to this acquisition is 8221. The size standard is $5M.
