NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 6 each Shuttle Databus MIA Interface Card, P/N PC-SSB-1; 6 each Shuttle MDM Databus (Serial I/O) Interface Card, P/N PC-MDM-1; and 6 each 1553 Bus Interface Card/CoPilot 1553 Software Package, P/N CS-T13A. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Ballard Technology, Inc. 3229A Pine St. Everett, WA 98201, on a sole source basis. Only one responsible source is available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until 11/3/99 to provide to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the above date or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer for all or none, which shall be considered by the agency.
