A -- NASA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS IN SUPPORT OF SCIENTIFIC COMPUTING, RFP2-37056 NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) has posted a draft solicitation for a task order under the Department of Transportation (DOT) Information Technology Omnibus Procurement (ITOP II) contract. The task order is for engineering and science support to perform research, development and operations in the area of scientific computing for NASA. The draft solicitation contemplates consolidating effort from the following contracts: (1) ARC Contract NAS2-13619, Computational Capability Resources; (2) ARC Contract NAS2-14303, Research and Development for the Numerical Aerospace Simulation (NAS) Systems Division; (3) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Contract NAS5-32978, NASA Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) Computer Operations Support; and (4) part of GSFC Contract NAS5-32350, Space and Earth Sciences Directorate Computer Systems Management and Scientific Data Analysis Support Services. Only the support for computer and peripheral operations, dispatching, tape handling, computer operations analysis, document distribution and maintenance, computer operation support, and computer communications provided under NAS5-32350 will be consolidated. The work will be primarily at ARC and GSFC. The task order will support effort from other NASA Centers if requested. This is not a solicitation. The draft solicitation will only be available to ITOP II prime contractors under the Information Systems Engineering (ISE) functional area.
