This requeirement will result in a low emission diesel engine demonstrator system for tactical trucks. The reqipient shall research and develop emission related technologies for a low emission diesel truck engine, and demonstrate the technologies is a technology demonstrator engien system. Thsi demonstrator sahll be a specially modified commercial heave duty truck diesel engine rated at 650 BHP. The recipeint shall show by demonstration the low emission engien demonstrator system will meet the 1998 Federal on highway heavy duty truck engine emission standards, CFR Title 40 Par e 86 Subpart A (86.098-11) while maintaining BHP.
