DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. The prototype dewatering screen
system consists of a cylindrical, stainless steel, wedge wire screen
mounted on a structural steel supports and inlet and outlet water
pipes. The screen length consists of 5 sections for total length of 24
feet. Screen diameter is 4 feet. Water flows from the inside to the
outside of the screen cylinder. The cylinder rotates and is powered by
electric motor. Steel pipe from 36 inch to 6 inch diameter in various
lengths and valves and appurtenances are required. Some small diameter
PVC pipe required. Structural steel fabrication of dewatering screen
support structure, stairs, platforms, hand rails, water flumes, and
other items. Mechanical equipment includes flow meters, water level
sensors, pumps, speed reducers, pressure gauges, spray nozzles, self
cleaning filter, and other items. Electrical equipment includes motors,
portable acoustic doppler velocimeter, flux vector variable frequency
AC drive, cabinets and boxes, conduits, wires and cables, control
panels, and other items. Concrete work includes cutting or drilling
4ft. diameter hole in 2 ft. floor slab and cutting 6 ft. square hole in
2.5 ft. thick wall for installation of pipes. Cast in place concrete
required in walls and slabs after installation of pipes. Drilling and
cutting smaller openings in concrete also required. The estimated cost
range for this job is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The standard
industrial classification code (SIC) is 1791. The small business size
standard is average annual receipts for the previous three fiscal
