rdhesson@opm.gov. R -- SCOPE OF REQUIREMENT: The Office of Personnel
Management (OPM) intends to issue a solicitation for the leasing of
facilities and services for a conference. The conference will be held
on one of the following dates: September 6-8, 2000; September 12-14,
2000; or September 13-15, 2000. The location of the conference must be
located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, with access to public
transportation. SPACE: The facility must accommodate a plenary session
room for 700 people, theater-style seating with unobstructed view of
the stage, and must be separate from room used for meal functions; six
breakout rooms separate from plenary space for at least 100 people in
each room, classroom-style seating; 4-5 workshop rooms for afternoon
on day 3 that will seat 50 people, classroom-style seating; luncheon
space for first 2 days for 700 people at round tables of 8-10 people;
a registration area for 700 participants; and ample exhibitor space
with AV and computer hook-up capabilities. All conference space and
breakout rooms must be made available from 6:30 am -- 6:30 pm all 3
days. TRANSPORTATION: Parking for 500-700 cars and free shuttle
services to the Metro and area airports. SLEEPING ROOMS: 400-500
sleeping rooms. MEALS/BREAKS: Continental breakfast each morning for
700 people; plated luncheon for first 2 days for 700 people; mid-
morning and mid-afternoon breaks with beverages and light snacks for
first 2 days; mid- afternoon break and buffet-style lunch for 300-400
people on third day. OTHER: On-site audiovisual equipment and technical
support. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: The hotel must compliant with the
Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA). The facility must have contiguous breakout space, be willing to
make the conference site non-smoking during the 3-day conference, and
have adequate security. HOW TO ACQUIRE A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION: OPM
anticipates issuing the solicitation on or about November 19, 1999. The
solicitation document will contain the details of the conference, the
instructions for submitting a proposal, and how the proposals will be
