ANNOUNCING THE INDUSTRY INTERACTIVE PROCUREMENT SYSTEM SEMINAR The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Headquarters Procurement Services cordially invites you to attend one of two Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS) Seminar scheduled for Monday, November 29,1999. The first sessions will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. while the second session will be conducted from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in room 8015, 950 L'Enfant Plaza, Washington, D.C. 20024. The purpose of the IIPS Seminar is to provide information regarding the use of the Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS). The Office of Headquarters Procurement Services at the U.S. Department of Energy is transitioning from a paper-based procurement process to an electronic environment and IIPS is an integral component of this transition. This web-based application provides for the issuing of solicitations, the receipt of bids or proposals, the conducting of negotiations or clarifications, the issuing of amendments and other communications relevant to each solicitation, and the awarding of contracts electronically.
