announcement is issued under the requirements of the Trade Agreements
Act of 1979. This acquisition is being conducted using the test
procedures at FAR 13.5. The Naval Regional Contracting Center
Detachment London intends to procure a High Performance Airport
Sweeper/Blower to be delivered to the Naval Air Station Keflavik,
Iceland. General specification: A towed sweeper/blower in a
semi-trailer version. The broom is located in front of and the air
blower behind a two-wheel axle. The broom (hydrostatically driven) and
the blower (hydrostatically or mechanically driven) can be used in
combination or singly. Engine: 25OkW at 2000-2100 rpm Fuel: Diesel Fuel
tank. 400 liter. Broom: Carried on caster wheels, automatically or
manually operated from the driver's cab with an adjustable broom
pattern; speed: step-by-step adjustable up to 800 rpm; approx. length:
4100 mm; approx. diameter: 915 mm; working position 30-40 degrees;
cassette system steel brushes; hydrostatic broom drive. Blower:
Hydrostatic or mechanical fan drive. Air volume 7.5 meters cubed/sec,
Air speed 140 m/sec. Brakes: Dual circuit, high pressure, pneumatic
brake system. Semi-trailer connection. 2" king pin. Lighting and
safety: Adequate lighting for zero visibility conditions- Rotating,
yellow beacon and engine emergency shutdown. Color and Corrosion
Control: RAL 2011. Adequate corrosion protection shall be provided.
Manuals: Two sets of operator and maintenance manuals along with spare
parts lists shall be provided. Delivery Time: 90 days after award.
Trade-in Equipment: One or both of the following pieces of equipment
toward purchase price of requested sweeper: a. SCHLORLING PI7H sweeper,
runway, towed, semitrailer version. Model: 1985 Used: 9192 hrs
Condition: Poor to fair. Fully in service, Engine due for overhaul.
Chassis in very poor condition. b. SCHMIDT VS3F snow blower on a Unimog
1600 chassis. Model: 1989. Used: Unknown hours. Condition: Fair. Fully
