Donna A. Duval, dduval@email.usps.gov. The U. S. Postal Service intends
to award one or more Indefinite Quantity Architect/Engineer contracts
for design, document preparation and contract administration of
individual roofing repair and alteration projects at USPS owned and/or
leased facilities throughout the State of Florida. Professional
services required for this contract may include, but will not
necessarily be limit to, conducting field investigations, surveys,
testing and analysis of existing and planned roofing and support
systems; preparing engineering reports of recommended action and/or
design packages and performing full time construction monitoring. The
contract for architect-engineer services will be for two years with a
guaranteed minimum amount of $5,000. The contract may be renewed for
three one-year periods. Work orders for any one project cannot exceed
$250,000. The total contract amount cannot exceed $2,500,000. The
primary user of this contract will be the Atlanta Facilities Services
Office and District Offices located throughout the State of Florida.
This contract is to cover the southern portion of the State of Florida;
however, it may be used occasionally within other areas of the
southeastern United States. Firms that have the qualifications to
perform the services described herein are invited to submit two (2)
copies each of completed SF 255 "Architect-Engineer and Related
Services Questionnaire for Specific Project" and SF 254
"Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire" for itself and
for each of its proposed consultants to the office shown above not
later than December 3, 1999. The selection will be conducted with the
combined use of the submitted SF 255 and SF 254. Interested firms with
more than one office must indicate on its SF 255 the staffing
composition of the office in which the work will be performed. For the
purpose of this advertisement, a roof consultant is either a
registered architect or engineer who spends a substantial part of their
professional time concerned with the design, construction and repair of
roofs. Firms submitting should demonstrate knowledge and experience in
state-of-the-art roofing systems, testing, techniques and equipment.
Firms must have a minimum staffing of two registered roof consultants.
Manufacturer's representatives will not be considered. Consideration
will be given to firms responding to this advertisement in accordance
with foregoing requirements in the following order of preference: (1)
with the State of Florida; (2) within the States of Georgia, Alabama,
Mississippi or Tennessee; and (3) other States. Firms must provide
proof of or demonstrate the ability to obtain errors and omissions
insurance, minimum of $200,000 per claim, with submittals (two copies).
It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage
fee to any person or firm contingent upon, or resulting from, award of
these contract. No other general notification of this project will be
made. Submittals will not be retained or returned. This is not a
request for proposals. ONLY OFFERS SUBMITTED BY U S POSTAL SERVICE OR
HAND DELIVERED WILL BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SOLICITATION.
SUBMITTALS RECEIVED BY ANY OTHER FORM OF DELIVERY WILL BE REJECTED.
