necessary to remove and dispose of five (5) existing aboveground steel
fuel storage tanks and one (1) underground steel fuel storage tank,
remove concrete containment and concrete slab, remove fuel oil piping
and dispensers, remove possible contaminated soil, backfill and perform
miscellaneous associated work at U.S. Coast Guard Rockaway Station,
Queens, NY. This Request for Quotations is being issued pursuant to the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to
both large and small business participation. This project is estimated
between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable SIC Code is 1623. The
tentative date for receipt of quotes is 13 December 1999 and a Group
Site Visit is tentatively planned for 7 December 1999. Bid packages
will be available on or about 22 November 1999 at a non-refundable
charge of $10. Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable
to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the firm at: 83
WaverlyStreet, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast
Guard. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to
assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
