This equipment will be utilized to test various Air Force tactical missile systems with different frequencies for each system on each aircraft. Lockheed Martin Microcom is the only manufacturer whose telemetry system provides the required frequency selectability within current design parameters for the tactical missiles and mounting hardware. Use of any other system would require redesign and requalification of the tactical missiles, resulting in substantial costs and program delays.
