item synopsis/solicitation prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart
12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
Solicitation number N00164-00-Q-0024 applies and is issued as a request
for quote (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-14 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. A fixed price purchase
order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This
procurement is 100% reserved for small business concerns. The standard
industrial classification is 7378 and the business size standard is
$18M. The Navy requires one year of hardware maintenance for a Cameca
Ion Mass Spectrometer (SIMS) Model IMS4F, Serial #131 in accordance
with the Statement of Work which can be downloaded at
www.crane.navy.mil. This requirement is being solicited on a
sole-source basis to Cameca Instruments, 204 Spring Hill Road,
Trumbull, CT, since Cameca is the original equipment manufacturer and
has the required experience, proprietary data and replacement parts to
insure the equipment will meet performance parameters. The schematics
and other related documents as well as the source codes are
proprietary to Cameca and are not available for sale. The Ion Mass
Spectrometer is located at NSWC Crane, IN. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which will be considered by the Agency. The following

contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of its
standard commercial warranty, provided such warranty is available at no
additional cost to the Government. Offerors responding to this
announcement must provide the information contained in FAR 52.212-1,
Instruction to Offerors -- Commercial Items and must include a
completed copy of FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications -- Commercial Items. The offeror should also provide its
Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, Contractor Establishment
Code (DUNS number) and Tax Identification Number. SPECIAL NOTICE: The
Director, Defense Procurement has revised DFARS to require contractors
to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as a
condition for receipt of contract award. Offerors may obtain
information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by

For further details regarding the requirements of CCR, offerors are
advised to review DFARS 252.204-7004. If a change occurs in this
