Region II Emergency and Remedial Response Division desires professional
and technical support services in the assessment of contaminated or
potentially contaminated sites including Brownfields. Brownfields are
abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and commercial facilities
where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived
environmental contamination. Under this procurement, the contractor
will assist the Agency in the site assessment process which consists of
the evaluation and the placement of sites on the EPA National
Priorities List (NPL) which is commonly called the Superfund list.
Technical support provided under this contract may be performed at
privately owned sites or federal facilities, as specified by work
assignment or technical direction letter. It is anticipated that this
will be a five (5) year competitive cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The
total potential level-of-effort is 254,155 direct labor hours. The
anticipated release date for the Request for Proposals (RFP) is
December 20, 1999. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) for
this requirement is 8744, with a size standard of 500 employees. The
purpose of this CBD announcement is to notify potential offerors of
EPA's requirement, generate the source list, and to direct interested
parties to the EPA's "Doing Business with EPA" Internet World Wide Web
site (http://www.epa.gov/oam/srpod)for further information on this
procurement as it becomes available. Interested parties must forward
