SITE VISIT FOR SOLICITATION DAKF11-99-R-1008 (INSTALLATION SUPPORT SERVICES, FORT IRWIN, CA) A pre-proposal conference and site visit is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on November 15, 1999 at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California. The purpose of the conference is two fold: To provide offerors an opportunity to attend a series of functional and operational briefings of the Army activities where contractor services will be provided concerning the requirements for the Request for Proposal (RFP), and to participate in a guided tour of select facilities. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. The pre-proposal conference will be held at the Fort Irwin Post Theater, corner of Langford Lake and Barstow Rd. Firms that plan to send attendees to the conference must provide; Company Name, the names of all attendees, and a Point of Contact and telephone number to Leddie M. Attendance at the functional briefs will not be limited. However, the site tour will be limited to two individuals per firm. Registration the day of the conference will be from 8:30AM 9:30 AM. Contractor representatives should be prepared to furnish identification, if requested, during registration or throughout the conference. Attendance is at the expense of the offeror. The nearest motels are in Barstow, approximately 40 miles from Fort Irwin. At least one hour should be allowed for traveling from Barstow to Fort Irwin. Prospective offerors may submit questions prior to the conference, at the conference, and after the conference. The Government will respond to the questions, as appropriate, by issuance of amendment to the solicitation. The final time and date for submission of questions and comments relative to the solicitation is 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time), 24 November 1999.
