MINI DBOC (TWO-PHASE DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES) AT NEW ORLEANS, LA The Southern Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command will host a seminar to provide information on a new contracting strategy for two phase design build (construction and design services) at DoD activities serviced by Southern Division in the New Orleans. LA., area for procurements ranging from $100,000 to $3,000,000. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, 16 Nov 1999 from 9 :00 am to 3:00pm at Room 212 (Auditorium), Building H-100 Hebert Tower, Naval Support Activity, 2300 General Meyer Ave, New Orleans, LA. Agenda topics include Design/Build Contracting, Design/Build Task Order Contracting and "Best Value" Procurement, as well as current projections for future workload. Plans for use of this new contracting methods (Mini DBOC) represents a significant change in the way construction and design services will be contracted for in the future. The new contracting tools provide opportunities for increased partnering with design and construction contractors and customers, streamlined design process, rapid resolution of design questions during construction, and overall decreased time to deliver the final product.
