SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT NOTIFICATION This serves as "Notice of Intent" to negotiate an A/E contract with FP&C Consultants, Inc. for an updated design of the fire sprinkler and fire alarm system at the Kansas City, Missouri Veteran Affairs Hospital. This sole source procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(ii)(A), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements due to substantial duplication of preliminary design costs that are not expected to be recovered through competition. The initial design services where completed in 1994, but due to construction funding limitations the entire construction work was not awarded. Since this time there has been minor layout changes to the hospital that make it necessary for an updated design. Services shall include preparation of construction documents and other construction period services under SIC 8712. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal, nor a solicitation for offers.
