Regan, Contracting Officer (412) 365-5440 The Government is seeking professional engineering design services of a replacement air handling unit located at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, PA. 15240. The architect engineering firm selected will be known as the Governments retained architect engineer and shall be responsible for providing professional design services. Included are accurate construction cost estimate, construction period services and site visits. All designs shall be done in accordance with NFPA, VA guidelines and directives, VA master specifications and all other required applicable codes. The architect engineering firm shall have a knowledge of HVAC systems available and prior successful experiences designing projects of this required size, nature and cost. The architect engineering firm will be responsible for a site survey to evaluate existing condition of air handling units, associated piping and other mechanical, electrical and associated architectural finishes. The A/E is requiredto provide coordination reviews and consultation services thru the completion of the entire project. The architect engineering firm shall be responsible for providing to the Government professional Industrial Hygienist Services to perform asbestos survience, investigation, asbestos monitoring in appropriated areas and bulk sampling if necessary and inclusion of proper asbestos specifications and drawings.
