R -- RESIDENT RESEARCH ASSOCIATESHIP PROGRAM The Office of Naval Research (ONR) in coordination with the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) has a requirement for the overall scientific and technological policy supervision and associated administrative functions for the successful conduct of a postdoctoral research associateship program. Sole source negotiations will be held with the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council (NAS-NRC). NAS-NRC is uniquely experienced with the structure, scientific programs and personnel at the medical research and development laboratories managed by the NMRC. To a degree unmatched elsewhere, NAS-NRC brings eminent scholars, both foreign and American, into active cooperation with the scientific and technical disciplines of the NMRC. NAS-NRC provides the measure of expertise, independence, unparalleled objectivity of the highest quality and audience acceptance necessary to meet NMRC's postdoctoral research associateship program. NAS-NRC is the only contractor that can provide continuity of management for the post-doctoral associates that are already tenured at NMRC and other NMRC laboratories.
