Contracting Officer, (214) 767-3999 WORK TO BE DONE: The work to be
performed consists of the removal of two existing 10,000 gallon
underground fuel storage tanks and the installation of two aboveground
fuel storage tanks with associated piping. Installation of a concrete
retaining wall, concrete supporting pad for aboveground storage tanks
and asphalt patching will be included in the work. Electric service
and pump, remote fill pipe, remote spill containment box and automated
gauging system will be required in the aboveground storage tank. The
specifications require coordination with hospital operations. All U. S.
Environmental Protection Agency requirements will be adhered to include
permitting, certification, preparation of a Closure Assessment Report,
and removal and disposal of all contaminated materials at the
Whiteriver Indian Hospital, Whiteriver, Arizona. The contract period is
120 calendar days. Estimated magnitude is from $75,000 to $200,000.
Plans and specifications will be available O/A November 22, 1999, by
writing Kathy Brancato at the address above. No deposit is required for
the first set of solicitation documents for 51 percent Indian owned
firms. Additional sets for 51 percent Indian owned firms are $25.00
each. The proposed contract listed herein is Set-Aside under the Buy
Indian Act for 51 percent Indian owned, operated and controlled firms.
In accordance with the Public Health Service Acquisition Regulation
Paragraph 380.503(E), not more than 50 percent of the work to be
performed under a prime contract awarded pursuant to the Buy Indian Act
shall be subcontracted to other than Indian firms. For this purpose,
work to be performed does not include the provision of materials,
supplies, or equipment. In order for Indian firms to prove that they
meet the qualifications requirement of the Buy-Indian Set-Aside
restriction, they need to submit a "Certification of Tribal Affiliation
and Degree of Indian Blood" with their bid. Contractors shall insure
that bonding capability for a project of this magnitude is available.
