The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a firm fixed price delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company to replace the HAC-32 MCM and other components on the Stores Management Processor A9 Shop Replaceable Assembly. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, only MDC has the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
