This announcement is to provide offerors advance notification of our intentions. We are seeking responses to the Market Investigation Questionnaire and comments on the Draft Purchase Description (DPD), which will be posted to the Heavy Engineer Crane homepage by 12 Nov, 1999. All responses and comments must be received no later than close of business 29 Nov, 1999. Description of crane: The crane is defined as a crawler mounted hydraulic crane and pile-driving system capable of completing construction tasks, including heavy lift, pile driving, assembling work barges from causeway module sections, limited dredging, concrete placement, and other construction tasks. The HEC is being procured to replace the current P&H Model 5060. We intend on issuing a three-year requirement contract for the production of approximately 28 cranes (quantity subject to change).
