This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARGON, LIQUID (9135-00-759-7634, IAW Spec. MIL-P-27415, Type II, Grade A),is a cryogenic (very cold) product that is delivered by an outside vendor in a dewar-type vehicle. The product is transferred to our dewar A-1 near Bldg. 31. This dewar has a capacity of 7,000 gallons or 81,410 pounds (the usual contract unit of measurement). Argon is ordered as required by COTR, usually around 10 times a year. The average delivery is 43,850 pounds, although this amount may be more related to the delivery truck than to our dewar. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-13. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 2813 and 500, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to Glenn Research Center is required within 14 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
