E-MAIL: Jalane Johnson, johnsojg@eglin.af.mil. SUSTAINING ENGINEERING SERVICES (SES) FOR THE ADVANCE MULTIPLE ENVIRONMENT SIMULATORS (AMES) AT EGLIN AFB. AAC/PKZA is preparing to modify an existing contract to Amherst Systems,, Contract F25600-96-D-0503, to provide sustaining engineering services to the 16th Test Squadron (TS), Eglin AFB FL. The planned taskings direct the contractor to maintain and support the two AMES, four micro-AMES, and two pico-AMES located at the 16TS and the 46th Test Wing (TW) at Eglin AFB FL. The existing contract covers seven Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulators (CEESIMs) that support the B-1, B-2, and B-52 test requirements. This modification will add the AMES systems to that contract with no increase in ceiling cost or period of performance coverage. The AMES is an advanced radar environment simulator system that accurately generates and simulates three-dimensional, complex emitter, high density signal, eletromagnetic environments in real-time. They are used in the test facilities at Eglin to support development and operational test requirements for electronic warfare (EW) systems. Both the simulator and the simulation software were designed and built by Comptek Amherst Systems, Inc. Taskings will include: (1) emergency repair and on-call maintenance of the AMES hardware and software (2) technical studies for and development of upgrades for existing AMES hardware and software to overcome current limitations in test capabilities (3) system operation and maintenance training, and (4) requests for technical information. Due to the immediate need for support and the lack of adequate, existing support documentation, prospective contractors must have a prior and detailed working knowledge of the unique equipment and software involved. This must include knowledge in: (1) the design, operation, and maintenance of the AMES (2) the interface between the AMES and the Combat Air Forces (CAF) EW systems and their associated support equipment, and (3) the radar threat environments in which the CAF EW operates and their simulations using the AMES. The period of performance and the total ceiling dollar limit will not change from the original contract. This synopsis is for informational and planning purpose estimates only; it does not constitute an IFB or RFP and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Prospective contractors must submit evidence substantiating they possess the detailed knowledge and capabilities indicated above. The contractor must possess a SECRET clearance. Interested parties shall submit a capabilities package which addresses all requirements listed in this announcement. Packages must be received by 1:00 p.m., CST, 19 Nov 99. Forward qualification packages to: AAC/PKZA, Attn: Jalane Johnson, 205 West "D" Avenue, Suite 467, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6864. For further information concerning technical aspects, contact Mel Noble, (850) 882-6964 or E-Mail: noblem@eglin.af.mil. For Contractual Information, contact Jalane Johnson, (850) 882-4141 X4560 or E-Mail: johnsonjg@eglin.af.mil.
