The U.S. Secret Service intends to award a sole source purchase order to Capital Card Systems, Inc., Rockville, MD, an authorized Datacard Corporation dealer for two datacard image card badging production systems, to include two image card IV duplex printers and two magnetic stripe modules. In addition, four additional image card iv duplex printers and four magnetic stripe modules are also required. Only Capital Card Systems has sufficient knowledge of the requirement to perform the necessary upgrades. This is a sole source requirement per FAR Part 13, only one source is reasonably available. Open market publication of further details is not in the Government's security interest as it could lead to countermeasures being used to defeat existing/future technology.
