The U.S. Customs Service intends to procure a contractor to fabricate and install a Valor Memorial at the U.S. Customs Service building located at 1300 Pennslyvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. The memorial shall be made of stone and glass and contain the names, dates and titles of personnel lost in the line of duty. The type and dimensions of the required memorial are as follows: Type: Free Standing. Base: Stone 8' square, 18" high; chamfered corners; 6" wide x 1/2" deep reveal detail in middle of vertical edges. Plaques. Plaques: four (4) glass panels with frosted vinyl pattern accents attached vertically to the base supported by brushed stainless steel posts 3" diameter with clips attached to hold glass in place. sizes: one 5' high by 30" wide; two (2) 7'8" high by 5' wide, one (1) 8' high by 30" wide; 1/2" thick beveled glass. Customs Logo -- 2' diameter, 1/8" thick aluminum silk-screened lettering. Silk Screened Text: 25 word dedication and 84 names with date and title. A sketch of the proposed memorial is available along with the RFP. Proposed contractors shall have a minimum of 10 years past experience and have fabricated and installed a memorial similar to the one proposed above for inspection.
