Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire IAW FAR part 12, as
a commercial items acquisition, under full and open competition using
simplified acquisition procedures as set forth in FAR part 13 for
mobile MRI services in support of Naval Hospital Charleston. The
required services consists of the following: The successful quoter will
provide a mobile MRI system to perform a full array of pulse sequences
and physiologic synchronized studies of the body and extremities, and
have the capability to perform angiography, cardia-three dimension
studies, and triggered body magnetic resonance angiography studies. The
MRI magnet shall be a 1.5 tesla strength magnet, and the unit itself
shall not be any older than 3 years. The mobile unit shall consist of
a scan room, operator control room, check in area, dressing area, rest
room area, and administrative area. Mobile MRI services will be
performed five times a month on W! ednesdays, on months with only 4
Wednesdays, the5th days of monthly service will be performed on a
Thursday upon the mutual agreement of both parties. The estimated
number of MRI scans per day is 20. The quoter will provide 2 MRI
technologists who are currently certified as a diagnostic radiological
technologist as determined by the American Registry of Radiological
Technologists, and who have graduated from an accredited radiological
program which is accredited by the American Society of Radiological
Technologists, or poses a certificate of completion from an American
Medical Association approved training program for Diagnostic
Radiological Technologist. The period of performance for this
requirement will be 12 months starting the week of 9 Jan 2000, and will
have two one year option periods. The SIC code for this acquisition
