The Officer in Charge requires all labor, management, tools, materials and equipment necessary to cut all vegetation to within 8" of the ground in an approximate 3,000 acre swamp area. Vegetation will remain on premises where cut. Contractor will not be responsible for removal of any vegetation. Vegetation includes but is not limited to: trees, up to 12" in diameter; stumps, logs, limbs, shrubs, marsh grasses, weeds and miscellaneous debris. Swamp area is covered with standing water in various depths dependent upon season; Insects, reptiles and small animals are abundant. The site is a active target bombing range located on military property in Dare County, North Carolina. Work may be interrupted for scheduled bombing practice. Access is through numerous dirt roads and water-filled ditches. A MANDATORY SITE-VISIT WILL BE HELD APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE OF SOLICITATION. PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO MEET AT A DESIGNATED PLACE NEAR THE SITE. The applicable SIC code is 0782 and size standard is $5,000,000.00.
